# How AI Agents Work

AI agents use a combination of data inputs, machine learning algorithms, and sometimes user-defined rules to make decisions and carry out actions. For instance, consider GPTs (Generative Pre-trained Transformers) used by companies like OpenAI. These AI agents can understand and generate human-like responses text based on the input they receive. This ability makes them incredibly useful for a variety of applications, from answering questions to generating content.
